Tasting
Notes:
1999 was characterized by consistently favorable grape ripening conditions.
The wine was barrel aged from December 1999 until November 2001 for
a total of 23 months in new French & American Oak. The French oak
imparts a spicy aroma while the American oak contributes a sweet (vanilla)
mid-palate. The uniqueness of Strata’s virgin soil, carefully
controlled grape growing and wine making, has given the perfect flavor
to our 1999 Merlot. We have created a lush wine with great character.
